School is back in session
After six years on pause, Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne, the duo who made streetwear feel tailored and tailored feel street, were stepping back into the spotlight last fall. But instead of another fashion week formula: runway, applause, after-party, they flipped the script.
At Saga in downtown Manhattan, guests entered a three-level experience: smoky jazz on one floor, fine dining on the next, stand-up on the top. Everyone, from bartenders to elevator operators, rocked head-to-toe Public School. The crowd was stacked: athletes like Devin Booker, Suni Lee, and Jordan Clarkson, plus Natasha Lyonne, Common, and Tyson Beckford. Champagne flowed, Donnell Rawlings cracked jokes, and a live jazz tribute to jazz great Max Roach set the tone.
The fits? Effortlessly rebellious: archival suits, relaxed pants, sneakers, and caps mixed like it was old-school New York with a modern remix.
Class is officially back in session.
